Description
Pennywort Brazilian
Pennywort Brazilian, known by its scientific name as Hydrocotyle Leucocephala, originates from Brazil. This aquarium plant has unusually shaped leaves that are usually about one to two inches in diameter.
Care & Maintenance
Pennywort Brazilian is easy to grow because it adapts well to varied water conditions. It will grow especially well and fast when provided with good or intense lighting. Because of its fast pace of growth, Pennywort may have to be trimmed regularly to maintain a more dense or compact appearance. If left untrimmed, the plant will quickly reach the surface of the water where the leaves will spread rapidly and provide shading to the fish below. When trimming the plant, using sharp aquascaping scissors is highly recommended.
Minimum Lighting Required: Medium
Temperature Range: 59-82°F
Tank Placement: Midground
This plant can be planted in the foreground, and midground or can be left floating on the surface of the aquarium water providing shading, cover, and making skittish fish feel more secure.
Pennywort Brazilian is also available potted.
