Description
Hygro Araguaia
Hygrophila Araguaia is one of the several varieties available in our store. It originates from South and East Asia and it is found along shallow riverbanks where it can grow both emersed and submersed. It is a beautiful "bushy" plant and should be used as a midground plant.
Care & Maintenance
Under good conditions and provided with good lighting, substrate, and fertilization including iron, Araguaia should grow fast. While not required, CO2 supplementation will increase In order to keep the plant at its best and compact, occasional trimming is recommended. Cuttings can be reused and replanted.
- Minimum Lighting Required: Medium
- Temperature Range: 72-82° F
- Tank Placement: Midground - Background
The appearance of Hygro Araguaia will depend somewhat on the conditions in the aquarium. If grown in a nutrient-rich substrate like Fluval Stratum or Rio Cafe and provided with iron-rich fertilizers and good light, the plant may display deep green to purple-red colors.

Received healthy, and vibrant
I received it healthy and had lots of buds wanting to grow, unfortunately it never has grown and it’s starting to whither it seems. Maybe would recommend using C02 for it to thrive.

Super Healthy
Beautiful Bunches, nice and healthy with the cutest little purple flowers! Most of dropped off now that I planted them into my tank but I reckon they will grow back no problem.

the little flowers came out
I have it planted in various spots--it lost leaves, but has great roots, so will probably come back and be a strong one in the tank

Nice but small
I have never kept this plant before, but it looks nice. Stems were thick and sturdy. These appear to be fresh, emersed cuttings--they are blooming and not rooted. I received 6 stems total, which is less than the bunches I used to get when buying plants 15 years ago before an extended break from the hobby, but perhaps that's just what is normal now. They'll grow more though. Can't wait to see how they mature!

Great Plants
This was one of 16 plant species I recently ordered from Modern Aquarium. All of the plants arrived in excellent condition . I was really happy with everything from shipping and answering my questions to great looking plants that needed very little from me before planting.
