Description
Glossostigma Elatinoides
Glossostigma Elatinoides, also commonly referred to as Glossos, is a tiny foreground plant that usually reaches a height of approximately 0.5 inches. It produces small, oval leaves that are an olive-green color.
Care & Maintenance
Under good conditions, and once established, the plant will spread across the substrate to form a dense carpet. Keeping it compact and short may require some trimming which can be accomplished with the aid of curved aquascaping scissors. This plant should not be placed in shaded or covered areas. Glossostigma is not difficult to grow as long as it is provided with adequate lighting. It can also be used as a bog/marsh plant in damp environments.
- Minimum Lighting Required: Strong
- Temperature Range: 60-80°F
- Tank Placement: Foreground
Glossostigma looks best when planted in the foreground areas of the aquarium. It spreads from shoots and will grow faster and form dense patches under strong light and when planted in a nutrient-rich substrate.

The best
Not only did ModernAquarium send me a copious amount of plantings, but they were very healthy. I was expecting to only fill a small 4x4 area in the front of my tank, but there was so many individual plants in the bunches, I could spread them out over a good 4x12 area. I've ordered from MA twice now and Im VERY happy with all of their fresh water plants. Healthy, mature, priced right and the right amount. I will continue to order from these folks.

Gloss. plants
Awesome plant! Came with two bunches about the size of my palm. Planted them in sand, and after anout a week they seem to be sending off little runners and are turning vivid green. Awesome!
