Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia originates from Sumatra. This plant produces bold leaf shapes that give it an impactful appearance in the aquarium. The leaves are typically long and lanceolate in shape, tapering to a pointed tip. The leaves are usually olive-green but may become brownish under certain conditions.
How to Care for Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia
Once established, Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia is hardy and will grow well in most aquariums. The plant will require moderate light and prefers nutrient-rich substrates. Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia does not like sudden and large environmental changes, so providing stable parameters is recommended. When changes occur, the plant may experience a period of transition or melting. During this phase, older leaves may “melt” away or decay. But be patient because the plant will recover and continue to grow once it adjusts to the new environment.

Healthy, Fast growth, Good price
Posted by Michael Solano on 27 Apr 2020I love the look of this crypt. I ordered 3 types of crypts and these were my favorite. The 2 medium size plants were very healthy, having been pruned to size. Came with thick runner roots propagating new shoots, many leaves per plant, and I really like the leaf shape on this variety. The toughest part was fitting the large roots into my already crowded tank. I didn't see any melt on these after planting - in fact the opposite - almost immediate new growth.
