Description
Bolbitis Heteroclita
Bolbitis Heteroclita, also known as broadleaf bolbitis or Asian Water Fern, is native to the Indochina region of tropical Southeast Asia. This beautiful plant produces broad, trident-shaped green leaves on sturdy stalks.
How to Care for Bolbitis
Bolbitis is an undemanding and relatively slow-growing plant. It is easy to care for and is a perfect aquarium plant for beginner aquarists. Bolbitis is low maintenance and does not have any special requirements. It will do well in most aquariums and even paludariums.
- Minimum Lighting Required: Low - Moderate
- Temperature Range: 72-82°F
- Tank Placement: Midground, Rocks, Driftwood
Bolbitis, like other ferns such as Java Fern, is an epiphyte. It attaches to rocks, driftwood, branches, and other aquarium decorations. While it can be planted in substrate if its rhizome is not buried, it looks spectacular when grown on driftwood or rocks. It likes good water circulation.
