Anubias Nangi, like other anubias species, originates from the tropical regions of Africa. In nature, it is typically found near the edges of rivers, lakes, and flooded areas or wetlands. River. Anubias Nangi produces beautiful oval green leaves that are tough and sturdy. This is a great plant for most aquariums and is a great beginner plant and suitable for aquariums with boisterous fish.
How to Care for Anubias Nangi
Anubias Nangi will thrive in varied environments. It will do well in aquariums with low lighting conditions to those with intense light. Anubias Nangi is highly adaptable and easy to care for. It is not particular about water conditions and parameters such as pH, KH, and even temperature. As long as these parameters are within the range acceptable to fish, the plant will adapt and do well.

Anubias Nangi is a slow-growing plant. No CO supplementation is necessary although if provided the plant will grow more robustly. Like other epiphytes, Anubias Nangi can be attached to driftwood, rocks, and other tank decorations and hard surfaces. If planted in substrate care needs to be taken that its rhizome (the thick part of the root system) is not buried. Anubias Nangi can be propagated by cutting its rhizome, dividing it into smaller portions, and replanting the plant.
Anubias will benefit from an algae-eating crew in their environment comprising of snails such as Mystery Snails or Nerite Snails or smaller plecos such as bushy nose pleco, oto catfish, or Siamese algae eater. These aquatic animals will braze on algae growing on the plant’s leaves, keeping them clean and healthy.
